Flexographic printing onto corrugate liner
is the most common type of printing in the box industry.
Flexo is used primarily for shipping cases and in more recent years used in the retail environment as well for POP displays on uncoated or coated board.
Flexo uses spot (PMS or GCMI) ink colors instead of process (CMYK) colors like offset printing.
Each ink color is placed onto the corrugate substrate
with a very large photopolymer printing plate
in a precise printing order.
Many times multiple colors are used and overlaid to create additional colors.

Offset printed litho is a commonly used for high graphic displays. Offset litho laminate coatings can also enhance the appearance of the printed material by adding gloss, texture, or other effects. Common types of laminate coatings include aqueous, UV coatings and matte coatings.
